Roof Cost Calculator for Haltom City, TX
Explore an asphalt replacement budget with Dallas–Fort Worth rates. Keep the example or enter a roof area you already know.
A roof budget begins with the area being covered
Two roofs can cover a similar patch of ground and use different amounts of roofing. The steeper one has more surface running from the eaves to the ridge. That is why the calculator separates a known roof-surface measurement from a ground footprint.
The Dallas–Fort Worth planning range is $4.50 to $7.50 per square foot of roof surface for asphalt replacement, including ordinary tear-off and disposal.

Explore an asphalt roof replacement budget
The starting result uses 2,000 square feet of roof surface. Change the inputs to explore the assumptions, without climbing or measuring the roof yourself.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.

Allow for difficult access, complex roof shapes, flashing work and damaged wood.
Discuss your roof projectAsphalt replacement planning only; repairs, metal, commercial membranes and insurance payments use different scopes.

The Dallas–Fort Worth asphalt replacement range is $4.50–$7.50 per square foot of roof surface, including ordinary tear-off and disposal.
The 2,000-square-foot roof-surface example gives a $9,000–$15,000 budget. Known-surface mode uses the area directly. Footprint mode uses pitch to calculate sloped area; total living space is a different measurement.
Allow separately for steep-roof labor, deck repairs, unusual access, complex intersections, material upgrades and gutter work. Insurance payments and deductibles are outside this calculation.
What the planning budget includes
The result is a total-project planning example for asphalt shingles, including ordinary tear-off. The actual roof can involve additional work that a size-only model does not see.
Two area inputs, two different meanings
Known roof surface area
This is the total area of the sloped roof surfaces. If you already have it from a roof measurement, the model can use it directly. Changing pitch does not add more area in this mode because the slopes are already measured.
The pitch input still helps identify whether asphalt shingles are suitable. A low-slope section can require a different system from the main roof.
Roof footprint
The footprint is the ground area covered by the roof. The calculator uses pitch to account for the additional area on its slopes. It is an approximation for exploring a simple roof shape.
A home’s total living space can include two floors, while the roof also covers garages and overhangs. That number should not be treated as the footprint. If you don’t know either measurement, leave the example in place.
Roof cost calculator FAQs
How can I use the result to plan?
It gives an early asphalt replacement budget. A free inspection helps connect that budget to the materials, access and supporting work your roof needs.
Why does changing pitch sometimes leave the price unchanged?
When you select known roof surface area, the slopes are already part of the measurement. The model does not count them twice. In footprint mode, a steeper pitch adds geometric surface area. Neither mode adds a separate steep-roof labor allowance.
Can I use this for a roof repair or commercial membrane roof?
No. Repairs have access and detail work that does not scale evenly with area, and commercial systems have different materials and scopes.
See roof repair or commercial roofing for those decisions.
What if I don’t know the size of my roof?
Keep the 2,000-square-foot example and use it to understand what affects the budget. You do not need to climb or measure the roof to request a free inspection.
